The video lectures are of perfect length to actually learn and enjoy that’s being taught without much stress. Above all the course maintains a forum which is ever active where we can discuss and communicate with our fellow peers. Confused which technology interests you the most? Again IMAD is one such course that gives us the much needed start and helps us to decide on the technology we wish to work on. This course is one of its kind teaching everything from networks, databases, web development, android app development, iOS app development, version control (git) etc.

The USP of this course is the 2 month fellowship program it provides to top students. This is work from home internship that Hasura provides to the top students from the course. The benefits of this program are HUGE. We get a taste of professional environment, familiarize ourself with Slack, develop leadership and team building skills and most important have complete ownership of the product we build and it is for us to keep. Above all we work on platforms which have high demands in the industry like React, Python, Node Express etc.
About HPDF
In this program we work with fellow interns in teams of 5–7 to develop a product of choice. Each team is assigned a mentor who assesses the performance of each individual in the team. We also have certain milestones and deadlines to follow throughout the program.
How did it help me
We are towards the end of this blog and guess what this is my first ever attempt. Now you might be wondering how is the above sentence even related to the heading? What does a technical course have to do with writing skills? But that’s exactly what the beauty of this course is. It does not stress on the technical aspect but provides vital encouragement to socialize ourself as a programmer be it through platforms like Stack Overflow, Linkedin or writing blogs which is very important in today’s day and age. Apart from learning a new framework (React Native) this course has given me the confidence to express myself as a programmer and socialize myself among the peers across the globe.
Something you should know
The course is conducted by Tanmai Gopal co-founder of a banglore based start-up named Hasura that provides a platform for developers to build & host powerful applications, featuring instant backend APIs powered by Postgres and an easy deployment workflow. The course is conducted in partnership with IIT Madras and in association with NPTEL. It is an 8 week course aimed for absolutely anybody who is interested to code.
